I mentioned in the last post that we had our eye on a house or two.
So we put an offer in on our favorite...
...And we got in for the exact price we needed it to be...
...Then during the inspection, the sellers dropped the price again...
....Finally after many days of worry and anxious prayer we got word...
Our loan was approved!!
I will spare you all the drama that went down with getting the loan approval, but it took A LOT longer to get approved then it probably should have. (47 other people submitted applications for the USDA loan program at the same mortgage company!) We went weeks without knowing what was going on, if we were actually approved, if we had submitted to USDA, etc.
We got word on Monday that they had actually submitted to USDA last Thursday...without telling us or our Mortgage Broker. Slightly frustrating, but whatever. We're through the biggest hurdle!! We should be closing in about two weeks, and moving in towards the end of September.
Here is a picture of our lovely, soon-to-be home (courtesy of Zillow). I really do love this house. It has EVERYTHING we had on our original 'Want' list. I was really nervous about putting in an offer again, really fearful something would happen to make it fall through. But the Lord knows where we need to go, and made it pretty clear this was it. And if that wasn't enough, the process since then has been a confirmation of that. Has it been easy? No. Is my hair going gray because of it? Yes. But everything has worked out just right. Never too much, or not enough. Just where we needed to be.
Coincidence? I think not.
We are excited/anxious/elated/happy/nervous about taking this next step in our journey. The only downside is we have to leave our beloved ward. We truly came to love them as they welcomed us into their midst, and only hope that we can find that again in our new ward.
But wish us luck! More pics/info to come!
Congrats, Dad
